The Employment Event

Last Friday the committee JFV CarrièreBoard organised in cooperation with the ESN Groningen the Employment Event. It was a great day with various companies who told the international law students everything about the international career opportunities in the Netherlands.

The day has started with a plenary part with Mr. Chadd, who us told about his startup. He told the students about starting their own organisation. It was a great kick-off for the day.

Afterwards there were 2 rounds of workshops. The first workshop was given by the International Welcome Centre North. They have learned the students about the career opportunities in the three northern provinces. Where can you work? What kind of work can you do at an organisation? And how do you apply for a job?

Rein Advocaten and Adviseurs told the students about a blockchain. Later that day everyone knew what a blockchain is. A blockchain is quite a large database. It is open to everyone, nobody is the owner. Just like the internet, with all websites. Everyone can look at the page. And this is already being used extensively by entrepreneurs, for example to make the first blockchain coffee.

Finally, Maarten explained what a traineeship at the European Union is. As a trainee you get the chance to focus on themes that are high on the social and political agenda from the European Union. From climate change to education and from economic development to foreign policy. You do this surrounded by the administrative and official top of Europe.
